Abstract:The silicone resins modified by epoxy is irradiated by the 60Co-γ irradiation and the chemical structure change of the resin before and after irradiating is demonstrated by the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer. The corrosion resistance of the prepared infrared emissivity coating is studied by using gel fraction, polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope (SEM) surface analysis. The results show that the corrosion resistance is superior by using 60Co-γ irradiation without performance degradation of infrared emissivity between 8—14 μm, since the degree of crosslinking is improved.
