Thanks to outstanding performance advantages, the new broad band semiconductor power devices have been widely used. This paper presents the development status of SiC power devices and its main characteristics. The applications of SiC power devices in the new energy, the civil power transmission and distribution, and the aerospace are generalized. Besides, the application prospect for SiC power devices is also pointed out in the field of power electronics.
